Welcome to Chivas Circle, an exclusive circle of enthusiasts who know how to appreciate a flavoursome spirit!
There is nothing quite like the buttery finish and velvet smoothness of a tumbler of fine whisky, sitting by the fire of a winter afternoon, enjoying the company of friends. Here at Chivas Circle we feel strongly about whisky in general and Chivas Regal in particular!
As many of you know, whisky is made from fermented grain like barley, rye, wheat and corn. It’s usually aged in wooden casks of charred white oak. There are many different types and classes of whisky worldwide, but they all inevitably share these basic characteristics. Wherever it comes from, whisky has always had a colourful history – for centuries it’s been the drink of gentlemen, rebels and smugglers alike!
Chivas Regal is a blended Scottish whisky, or just ‘scotch’ for short, first produced in 1801 and aged 12 years and above. (All scotch must be aged in oak barrels for at least three years.) These days, it can be malt or grain whisky, but originally it was made from malt barley. And you can always rely on Chivas to be truly regal!
The home of Chivas Regal is located at the Strathisla distillery, founded all the way in 1786, and it’s now the oldest working distillery in the Highlands of Scotland! Perhaps the dramatic, brooding, backdrop adds something extra to the unmistakable character of this fine scotch!
So join us, and learn a bit more about the drink that used to be known as the water of life! We will look at all the secret of drinking whisky like a connoisseur, conducting a tasting and getting the most out of every sip. Then, we’ll take a stroll through the brief history of whisky and shed light on the many kinds of whisky and bottling!
So, fill your tumbler, sit back and enjoy!
